Studying the Bible
“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” -2 Timothy 3:16,17
Bible study is an extremely important part in the Christian walk with God. If you want to be connected with your Lord and Saviour, then you need to be constantly reading His Word to learn about your Father in Heaven and find out what purpose He has for you.
By setting time aside for Bible study, you will enhance your communication with God. As you know, it’s hard to stay connected to friends if you never speak to them or learn about them. In the same way, it’s impossible to stay close to God without reading about Him through the Scriptures.
Finding Time
People often have a difficult time finding time to study their Bible. If you’re struggling to make room for Bible study in your life then you need to find the source of the problem.
Do you really not have enough time or are you simply not using the time you have wisely? You have time every day to eat, to shower, to watch television, and to communicate with others. So why don’t you have time for God?
By realizing that you need to set time aside, you’ll be able to live a more fulfilling life by discovering God’s amazing plans that he has made for you.Setting a Schedule
Let’s face it; studying your Bible can be difficult at times. If you’ve ever tried starting out in Genesis to work your way through, chances are that you gave up before ever finding the Psalms.
Many people who struggle to follow their study schedules have turned to Bible study guides as a method of staying on track.
There are tons of different Bible study guides available. You can organize your studying into sections by topics, chronological order, or other sequences.
While studying your Bible you should always have a pen and highlighter available so that you can take notes on what you are learning. Some Bible study guides even have sections for notes built into them.
The important thing about studying the Bible is to learn about God and find out what instruction the Bible has for your life. There are so many lessons that you can learn through His Word – including guidance on any issue you might face in your life.
By following a Bible study guide, you will be able to work through the entire Bible at a pace that is comfortable for you. Don’t be in a rush to go through it, but rather take your time and listen to God as he speaks to you.
The Importance of Bible Study
Romans 10:17 tells us that the Bible is put in place so that we may learn to have more faith in God: “Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ.”
Learning more about God isn’t meant for mornings or evenings, it is meant to take over and revolutionize the way you live. The more you learn about God the more you will want to follow his ways and become a better person for Him.
Although the reading might not always be easy, you can gain a lot by focussing and dedicating your efforts to God.
By giving God your attention you will be able to learn more about Him and discover the incredible life that he has planned for you.
