So you want to be an outgoing Christian entrepreneur?
Many young business people struggle to find ways of blending their faith with their work. Sometimes being a Christian may cause you to be uncomfortable with your surroundings in some situations. While it is always in your best interest to do the right thing, you might feel judged when doing so.
Aside from that, it can be difficult to be a successful Christian business person based on the world’s standards. How you measure success will greatly alter what you do to achieve it. Here are some pointers that will help you become an outgoing Christian entrepreneur.
Is Money Bad?
There is a fine line between the good that money can do and the evil that it can bring. While you’ve likely heard that money is the root of all evil, you may not have realized that there are many examples in the Bible of godly men that had riches that spread way beyond their needs.
The important thing to remember with your money, however, is that it must not control your life. There is a difference between being rich for God and being rich for you. If you want to be an outgoing Christian entrepreneur then you need to recognize the difference and make sure that you’re on the right side of things.
Luke 18:18-23 tells us the story of the “rich young ruler.” In this story there is a young man that is extremely wealthy. He asks Jesus what he must do to enter the kingdom of heaven and Jesus answers him:
“Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven..”
By saying this, Jesus is telling us that money cannot be our priority on Earth.
Matthew 6:19-21 says: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasure in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Can a Christian be Successful?
Believe it or not, there are a number of ways that your faith can actually help you in becoming an outgoing Christian entrepreneur or business person.
Many of the most successful business people in the world today are those that understood the principles of honesty, hospitality, and sharing. The nicer you are to those around you the more they will want to do business with you.
There is a famous saying in the business world that states: “people do business with people they know, like, and trust.”
By being an outgoing Christian entrepreneur you will win people’s heart with your enthusiasm and honesty. Although not everybody is a Christian, most people respect the virtues of Christianity enough to realize that you are reliable, hardworking, and honest.
By putting your Christian principles on display, you’ll be on the fast-track to becoming an outgoing Christian entrepreneur that other people know, like, and trust.
